Favourite things

IMG_20130506_131003

Neglected my blog for quite awhile, but now I’m back with freshly made stamps!

My first set of round stamps 🙂
Inspired by postmark stamp, with designs that include a few of my favourite objects!
Alpaca, flowers, tea cup with macaroons… the list goes on.

I love how small things can be so inspiring and whenever I run of of ideas I know I can just incorporate them into my designs.

Looking at the mess makes me feel very accomplished!

Placed them by the window for some natural light! 🙂
I think they look so cute side by side!

Printed and refined for mounting!
Hopefully I get to sell them at fleas or online and find new homes for them 🙂

Oh yes, talking about online, I’m planning to open an etsy shop, though everything’s not confirmed yet, but i’m still planning and very excited to execute my ideas! Will definitely update on blog/facebook for more info!

Thanks for reading!

HMM craft fair 2013!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Last Saturday I was one of the vendors for the first Handmade Movement’s craft fair 2013!
Even though it was raining the whole day, the crowd made everything better!

This is me setting up the booth!
I took less than 20 mins to set up so is it a good thing? Haha!

Hey guys!
DROOL will be joining Handmade Movement craft fair in January!

Handmade Movement is Singapore’s Indie Craft Fair,
coming to you on 19 January 2013 at Fort Canning Green.
Come visit my booth and say hi!
There will be good music, food and most importantly handmade goods during the fair!
Check out their website to find out more!

I’m in the midst of preparing for the fair and will share more with you soon!

The birth of my name card

I’m a part-time crafter and full-time procrastinator so I have only decided
to get to carving my name card stamp last few weeks
even though I’ve drafted down my design since two months ago 😛

And tadaa, finally did it!! This time I used olive green rubber block for my special stamp ☺
I love the colour and the quality of the rubber!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Mentally prepared myself for the torture.. ☞ Three lines of words!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I don’t have a logo for DROOL so I decided to cartoonize my lovely carving tools!
Easy to relate to what DROOL does as well!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

3 hours later… (Just kidding I have no idea how long I took :P)
AND I’M DONEE!!
ALOT of rooms for improvement! But I had so much fun 🙂

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is how it looks like on the plain card!
I realized that printing works better if I put the card over the stamp! (Just for this at least)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Will be printing a few more namecards for 22nd’s Crafty Party!
So if you like it feel free to take one 🙂

Prepping for crafty party but I’m really kinda slow so my strategy is to come up
with my designs and carve them all at once!
I’m done with the Christmas series so there will be a sneak preview  up soon!

Stay tuned! ☼

Rubber Stamp-Making Workshop @ Häagen-Dazs

Here’s an update on today’s workshop! 🙂

Due to some changes in the plan, we ended up having our session in Häagen-Dazs instead of Mu Palour.
Thank God that Haagen Dazs was nice to let us conduct our session there and enjoy the christmas songs ♥

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is everyone who came for the workshop! 🙂
Really enjoyed spending my morning with these lovely people!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Carving can get quite labour-intensive! 😉
And everyone was very, very focused!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Talented participant, Cindy! 😉
I was amazed by her acorn like “are you sure this is your first time carving” haha!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Very nice and voluble participant! 😉
She has a nice name but I have no idea how to spell it :\ #Fail

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Huimin’s second time carving!
She came up with her own designs and they were really cute! 🙂

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The guys were always the first few to finish their stamps! 😛

But really thank you all for your patience! :’)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Crafty area with my Iced hot chocolate haha!

After the workshop, some might find carving even more interesting
and would love to carve more and even move on to the next level.
But others will realize that carving is not really their cup of tea~
I just hope that those who enjoyed it will continue to carve more unique stamps
and those who wanna quit carving enjoyed learning a new skill as well 🙂

Thank God for every opportunity to share my craft with others!

That’s all for today! Peace ✌
